Service in a ship that serves a British Transport has not generally been regarded as service under the Crown for purposes of British Nationality and Status of Aliens Act, 1914, but doubts are felt in doubtful cases. Local practice generally followed by local naturalization authorities is to consider such service as qualifying for naturalization.
